​​Goondiwindi State High School opened in 1964 and has a current enrolment of 511 students.

There is strong support within the local community for our School, our innovative programs, our comprehensive and responsive curriculum, our diverse array of extra-curricular activities and our committed teachers.

Features of our school include:

  • an extensive senior curriculum covering the full range of areas of study including academic, practical, performance and agricultural subjects
  • the award winning Multiple Pathways Program which offers post-compulsory students the opportunity to undertake school-based apprenticeships or traineeships
  • extensive links with the local community, including: MacIntyre Young Writers, Pushing the Boundaries, GSHS Student Bursary, Goondiwindi Eisteddfod and Expressive Arts Week
  • comprehensive and tangible linkages with cluster primary schools, including enrichment, extension, transition and orientation programs
  • state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in a range of subjects, including computer access networked throughout the School enabling access for integrated curriculum activities
  • access to a $2.3m indoor sports complex built on land adjacent to the school
