Goondiwindi State High School offers a comprehensive cultural/arts program, including:
Musical: Whole school productions are held bi‐annually and provide an opportunity for students to develop skills in acting, production and stage management.
Drama: Performances take place at Under‐8's Day and drama events.
Cultural excursions: Opportunities are given for students to attend performances through excursions to Toowoomba and Brisbane.
Expressive Arts Week: Held in October each year, Expressive Arts celebrates culture and the arts by engaging professional artists from across the country to conduct programs with students.
The Instrumental Music Program enhances opportunities for students to learn and develop musical skills in small groups and ensemble work. Performances at local events, Eisteddfod and official school occasions, instil confidence and encourage improvement.
Our Visual Art program has resulted in regular submissions and winners of Creative Generations Awards, together with exhibitions of art work at the local Show and the annual School Art Exhibition.
Lions Youth of the Year competition: Our school has achieved great successes at local, district and regional levels and has participated in state finals.
Our annual school magazine, Ukurrie, is written, compiled and edited by the students, enhancing their communication skills.
The MacIntyre Young Writers competition is held annually and sees a high level of participation by students from our school.
