Year 6 students from local primary schools have an opportunity to engage in a transition and orientation program at Goondiwindi State High School towards the end of Term 4 each year.
Parents of future Year 7 students are invited to an open day where they will tour the grounds and receive the school prospectus and student enrolment forms.
All new enrolments at Goondiwindi State High School are required to attend an interview at the school. At least one parent/guardian must accompany the student for the enrolment interview. The following information is required:
copies of most recent school reports, to assist with subject selection and student placement
any information relating to special assistance received at previous school.
A member of the school administration or the Guidance Officer will assist with subject selection when interviewing enrolling students. Implicit in the enrolment of students is the willingness of students and parents/guardians to support the values, expectations and standards of the school and its community.
There is a high expectation of full attendance and punctuality, following school procedures for lateness and leave, and good behaviour and role modelling for younger students. We expect full participation in the Care Program with co-curricular participation negotiable.
