Goondiwindi State High School has a wide variety of sports on offer whether it is in Health and Physical Education classes, lunchtime competitions of school representation.

Opportunities exist for Interhouse competition in swimming, cross country and athletics, MacZone District Trials (12 year olds), Border District Trials (in most sports), Darling Downs Representation and selection for Queensland State representation and teams to contest National Titles.

Several competitions such as Broncos (Rugby League & Netball), Laura Geitz Cup (Netball) and other round-robin and knock-out competitions are available annually.

Past and present students have been selected for District, Regional and State representation in sports such as:  Swimming, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Aussie Rules, Athletics, Track & Field, Cricket, Netball, Basketball, Golf, Triathlon and Equestrian.


Sport Houses

Students Are placed into one of three houses.  Each house has two house captains appointed:

Friendly Inter-house rivalry is encouraged and participation in all events is the key to successful sporting achievement
